FCD falls to rival Houston, 3-1
FCD’s four-game unbeaten streak came to a crashing halt as the Houston Dynamo left Pizza Hut Park a 3-1 winner in the lattest chapter in the battle for El Capitan. Unfortunately for Dallas faithful, this means the cannon is returned to Houston. Worse still was the attendance–8,580, greatly enhanced by Houston’s Texian Army contingent. The Sunday afternoon match between two of MLS’s worst teams ended in stalemate as Kenny Cooper struck late to salvage a 2-2 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes at Pizza Hut Park. A measley 5,742 (announced) fans braved the heat for the game. Skip right to the player ratings.

FC Dallas has acquired midfielder Dave van den Bergh in exchange for forward Dominic Oduro and a second round (18th overall) selection in Thursday’s 2009 MLS SuperDraft.
